BankrollThe total amount of money a player budgets for gaming sessions.
Chance ComponentThe RNG portion of a PA Skill machine round that sets the baseline outcome.

Determinative SkillThe player’s input at a prompt that can alter the outcome of a round.
Dry SpellA long sequence of losing plays due to variance.
Enforcement ActionSeizures or fines by law enforcement treating machines as gambling devices.

TermDefinition
Illusion of ControlA cognitive bias where players believe they can influence pure chance outcomes.
Meter ReportCabinet printout showing credits in/out, games played, and tickets redeemed.
MultiplierA payout boost applied under certain rules, e.g. Lightning Keno’s struck numbers.

TermDefinition
Near-Miss EffectPlayer perception that almost-winning outcomes increase likelihood of future wins.
OperatorA business owner or staff managing machines in a location.
RTPReturn-to-Player. Theoretical long-run return percentage of wagers.

SessionA block of consecutive plays by one player with a defined bankroll or time period.
Skill PromptThe on-screen test that determines if a round outcome can be improved.
VolatilityA measure of the frequency and size of wins relative to losses.
